Schenectady NY USA

Caught the Empire Service train from Syracuse to Schenectady, then changed to the Adirondak train which took me north to Fort Edward. From there I caught a taxi to Lake George. These are pictures from the train trip.

The train runs along the Mohawk River which is used for power generation. It contains a series of locks which I think were part of the Erie Canal.

I had time to look around the very historic town of Schenecktady which played a big role in the American war of independence. It is also the home of General Electric. (sken-ek-ta-dy)

  1. The man in the camera shop here was very helpful. Didn’t solve my problem with photo transfers as I had a faulty piece of equipment, but he helped me understand the controls on my camera.
