Here I am in Kuala Lumpur, my final destination before returning to Sydney on Sunday. I am staying in a good hotel on a cheap internet deal, which makes it much more affordable than Paris was! This city has supplied the greatest comfort(inside the hotel) and the greatest discomfort (the heat and humidity, and the traffic outside).
View from the Hotel
On my last full day in Paris I walked around (the outside) the Louvre.
Also walked along the River Seine nearby.
Then along part of Rue de Rivoli
Here are pictures of my walk from The Marais to the Jardin des Plantes and back.
This is a garden on the Marais area.
Set off in the green topless bus for a trip to the Arc de Triomphe. Started at Notre Dame and went through Place de la Concorde.
The Arc de Triomphes is at the centre of many intersecting boulevardes. You can walk to the middle via an underground tunnel.
Next went to the Trocadero, the two large buildings opposite the Eiffel tower.
Took the tourist bus north to the Monmartre area. Started off at Madelaine and went past some fancy shops, and the Opera building.
Went up Rue Clichy and Boulevarde Clichy into the Monmartre area.
Left bus in search of Sacre Coeur.
Escaped the heat and madness in the little train.
These pictures are of or nearby Hotel des Invalides.
This is the Eglise du Dome behind the Hotel des Invalides.
View from the dome down Avenue de Breteuil
Took the bus down Esplanade des Invalides over the river to grand Palais and Petite Palais.
Went via Champs Élysées to Place de la Concorde.
Arrived at Ste-Marie Madelaine
